Itinary:-

Arrive Friday by noon suggest you take early lunch at the Golf club

Matches to be drawn around 1.00PM

Foursomes Matches starting at 2.00pm (8 Tee Times)

Friday afternoon. (18 holes)

Evening meals not included (Golf Club, Hotel or downtown Scarborough as req’d)

Saturday 1.00 pm (8 Tee times) Fourball matches

Evening meals not included (Golf Club, Hotel or downtown Scarborough as req’d)

Sunday 11.00 am (8 Tee Times) Singles (In Fourballs)

Presentation Dinner in main Restaurant approx 7.30pm at Hotel included.

After breakfast Monday check out mid morning, head home ?

Why there ?

I chose Scarborough as the Wyder Cup has never been North of Grantham.

Scarborough was the first real seaside resort in Britain and has loads of good pubs

within easy distance from the Brooklands Hotel which is between the Golf Course and the Town centre.

The Hotel is a good 3 Star and a great deal for 3 nights with a presentation dinner on Sunday evening only.

Most of us only need to have Friday/Monday off work to travel up on the morning ready to play in the afternoon. (I did it in under 2½ Hours from Cannock) We travel back home Monday morning.

I chose the golf course as they gave me an excellent deal basically a 3 day membership !

Typical Dr McKenzie design with humps and bumps bunkering and tricky greens.

I think you will all find it interesting and challenging as it changes character from parkland

to cliff top with great views, then linksy, then moorland and back to parkland, so something for everyone !

A few of us went up to play it earlier this year, thoroughly enjoyed it and were made most welcome.

I would like to set a precedence where we continue to start looking for a next venue at least 18 month’s in advance. I found it gave a lot more options for dates and venues and it would be good to announce the next venue at each presentation just like tonight ? So L M need to choose a Captain for 2013 by Spring 2012 ?
